We now have a rare and exciting opportunity for a junior event and marketing student who has an interest in public event coordination as well as social media marketing, content creation and design. This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about both streams and excited to be involved in all event logistics including vendor management, event files, application processing and site planning while also working alongside our inhouse Marketing Manager to deliver creative marketing outcomes across a wide range of channels. This role is perfect for someone with a genuine interest in Public and community events Social media marketing and content creation Design and graphic creation Learning more about marketing campaigns, websites, print collateral and multi channel marketing You will gain hands on experience in a busy and diverse environment as you develop your professional skills while contributing to a wide range of Hunter Events Group projects and events. You will support the creation of marketing plans, collateral, content and design for a busy calendar of public and private events. This includes major community events such as Newcastle Toy Run, Carols in the Park and our signature HEG events including Festival of Sweets and Treats, Wedding and Wine Festival, Wedding Fairs Series, Pets Life Festival, Shop and Feast Markets, more than one hundred weddings, corporate events and many other projects. Your creative flair will support ticket sales and engagement across multiple platforms. You will help produce engaging content, contribute to on brand marketing strategies and support all public event coordination tasks with strong organisation and attention to detail. This is your opportunity to shine and grow as you complete your studies. Reporting to our Marketing Manager and Director, you will assist with all public events and marketing activities. There will also be opportunities to learn and assist onsite at weddings during peak periods. The right candidate will be as excited as we are to create unforgettable experiences in one of the most beautiful regions of the country, the Hunter Valley. Based in Maitland, you will join an outgoing, vibrant and supportive team. Key Assisting Responsibilities Public Event Planning Assist with vendor sourcing and management Review vendor application forms and information packages Process vendor bookings and maintain detailed event files Create and update site plans, sign on sheets and bump in and bump out documents Assist with planning, logistics and delivery of public and community events Support event day operations as required Marketing and Content Creation Manage social media profiles including scheduling and paid posts Produce creative digital content across social media, website, EDMs and marketing communications Create and manage a monthly content calendar Update and manage website content Read, understand and implement brand style guides Create and maintain style guides for Hunter Events Group owned events Assist with design projects including print ready artwork, signage, posters and digital assets General office administration and one off tasks as required Key Requirements Basic skills or developing graphic design skills including print ready files and artwork preparation Proficient skills using Canva Strong grammar and writing abilities Confident administration, data entry and organisational skills Ability to work under pressure while managing multiple tasks Flexibility to work weekends on occasion and outside standard office hours when required Confident communication skills and a strong customer service approach A collaborative attitude with professional presentation A valid driver licence with access to a reliable vehicle Bonus (Not Required) Event or Marketing experience or training Experience with Mailchimp and Meta Business Suite Tertiary qualification or current study in marketing, business or events is preferred What We Offer A supportive, vibrant and close knit team who will mentor you through your career The opportunity to contribute ideas and help shape future events and business goals Access to hundreds of industry relationships Weekly pay cycle Part time commencement with progression to full time capped hour week starting in January (After the Christmas Break) Free undercover parking close to the office What we offer you a potential for growth in a dynamic environment where you will contribute to projects that shapes experiences for countless guests while developing your marketing and event planning skill set.
