Situated in Surfers Paradise on absolute beach front, La Playa is a mediterranean resort inspired Bar & Restaurant. Operating 7 days per week, breakfast through dinner, we are seeking an experienced and motivated Head Chef to take the reins and lead our amazing team. The Role You will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of our busy kitchen. Ability to build collaborative relationships with staff members across departments in addition to being able to solve any issues, offer solutions and make decisions. Responsibilities & Duties Schedule and co-ordinate the work of chefs and other kitchen employees to ensure that food preparation is economical, technically correct and within budgeted wage cost goals. Ensure high standards of hygiene, cleanliness and safety are maintained at all times. Evaluate food products to ensure that company quality standards are consistently maintained. In conjunction with Management, develop policies and procedures to enhance and measure quality, continually reviewing and updating to enhance high techniques. Assist in maintaining a high level of service principals in accordance with established standards. Skills & Experience Minimum 2 years’ experience within a similar high-volume venue. Strong leadership skills to inspire, motivate, and lead a skilled team of chefs. An energetic and enthusiastic approach. Highly organized, passionate, and an excellent communicator with a hands-on approach.
