Bear Boy Espresso is a fast‑paced, high‑volume cafe born on the northern end of the Gold Coast. We're well established in the Gold Coast community and known for our creative, seasonal, modern Australian brunch menu and excellent specialty coffee offerings. We regularly feature other coffee roasters alongside our own coffee blend created in collaboration with Toybox Coffee Roasters. We're passionate about all things hospitality; great service, amazing coffee and delivering top‑quality food with consistency and flair. As we continue to grow, we’re looking for a passionate Head Chef to not only lead our kitchen team, but also play an integral role within the whole team. The Role We are currently seeking a career‑focused Qualified Head Chef for our Gold Coast location. You’ll be joining a well‑established kitchen team of professionals who know how to handle the pressures of a busy service, still have a laugh, and serve up great quality food. As Head Chef, you’ll be responsible for the day‑to‑day operations of the kitchen — from menu development and staff management to maintaining food quality, safety, and efficiency during busy service. Key Responsibilities Lead our dedicated kitchen team in a positive, respectful manner Oversee all kitchen operations including rostering, ordering, and stock control Develop seasonal menu changes in collaboration with the team Maintain excellent food presentation, portion control, and consistency Ensure compliance with all food safety and hygiene standards Work closely with management and the front‑of‑house team to deliver a great customer experience About You Minimum 1 year’s experience as a Head Chef or Sous Chef in a similar high‑volume café or restaurant Strong organisational and leadership skills with a hands‑on approach Creativity and passion for modern Australian café food Ability to perform under pressure while maintaining quality and composure Sound understanding of cost control, ordering, and kitchen efficiency Strong team player with great communication skills Positive attitude and genuine love for hospitality What We Offer A supportive, fun and friendly workplace with great team culture Competitive salary and opportunities for growth Work‑life balance with only daytime hours (no nights) Work in a dynamic environment and take part in the refinement of systems to consistently improve the business as a whole as well as personally and professionally Creative freedom and input into menu development If you’re an energetic and motivated Head Chef who thrives in a busy environment and loves creating memorable food experiences, we’d love to hear from you Please email ******@bearboy.com.au #J-18808-Ljbffr
