Description Our Energy and Utilities business is seeking an eager safety professional to join our ever‑growing team in a full‑time capacity. You will be working within the Power Projects space predominantly focused on Melbourne Metro projects and will have the opportunity to be exposed to other areas of our business and support alternate projects as required. This is a full‑time permanent Monday to Friday opportunity based in our Melbourne office/site locations. What you’ll do Coach Project Managers, Engineers, supervisors and field crews to successfully promote and foster a proactive culture of Zero Harm and environmental safety. Ensure application of Downer Zero Harm standards and legislative requirements to all work activities. Conduct observations, site inspections and audits. Investigate incidents, injuries or breaches of safety and environmental procedures. Manage incident reporting within Downer and client systems. We are a Tier 1 ASX listed company with in‑house capabilities that far exceed traditional contractor environments. What we’re looking for Basic knowledge of operational safety within a project‑based environment or equivalent trade‑based experience (Energy Utilities or Civil industry experience preferred). Prior utilisation of Health Safety & Environment Management systems is advantageous. Certificate IV in OHS / WHS. ICAM lead investigator, Auditing (advantageous but not essential). Demonstrate a high level of emotional intelligence, communication and problem‑solving skills. Willingness to learn, adapt and evolve to various business requirements.
