About the opportunity We are seeking the services of a General Practitioner – Visiting Medical Officer for Condobolin Health Service. Condobolin or Condo as it is affectionately called is the largest centre in the heart of NSW and home to around 3,500 people, the township of Condobolin is an hour from Parkes, Forbes, West Wyalong and Lake Cargelligo. This is the traditional land of the Wiradjuri people, where the lifestyle is laid back, the people are friendly and polite and there is an opportunity to escape from the grind of everyday life to enjoy a spot of fishing, camping, water skiing or bird watching. In Condobolin there are a range of restaurants, pubs and clubs, cafes with great coffee, an Olympic pool, gym and race track. Condo also features ‘Utes in the paddock’ is an outdoor gallery of 20 old utes that have been brightly decorated in a range of themes and makes a spectacular attraction for the region. Unconditional General and / or Specialist Registration with the Medical Board of Australia. Fellowship of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners and / or Fellowship of the Australian College of Rural and Remote Medicine and / or Vocational Recognition as a General Practitioner. Minimum three (3) years post graduate clinical experience. Previous experience in Emergency Medicine, General Practice, Adult Internal Medicine, Paediatrics or Rural Medicine an advantage. Sound knowledge of and commitment to clinical quality and patient safety, work health and safety, working within NSW Health Policy and current clinical practice guidelines. Knowledge of contemporary clinical management and modern approaches in assessment and management of the broad range of acute and chronic medical conditions. Competence in performing the range of procedures commonly undertaken in a rural emergency department. An understanding of patient centred care and demonstrated ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team including demonstration of NSW Health CORE values in delivering safe and high quality care.
