As we continue to lead in technological advancements, Vault is now entering a defining phase of growth with a strategic $22.5 million investment from the National Reconstruction Fund Corporation (NRFC). This investment will scale Vault's SECRET Cloud and introduce new services such as the AUKUS cloud capability, directly addressing Australia's strategic national security demands. As our Infrastructure/Edge Architect , you’ll play a pivotal role in shaping the future of cloud infrastructure. This is your chance to dive deep into today’s technological landscape while driving the design and delivery of next-generation capabilities. You’ll bring your expertise in cloud architecture and infrastructure-level design to lead complex engineering projects: ensuring they are delivered with precision, on time, and within budget. This Canberra-based role offers a rare opportunity to make a real impact, driving innovation while directly contributing to Australia’s cyber defense in the digital domain. You will be responsible for: Leading solution architecture for the integration of systems and applications, applying best-practice design principles. Defining and implementing design patterns in both software and system architecture. Applying expertise with OpenStack, Ceph, and open-source technologies to build scalable, reliable solutions. Driving DevOps practices and CI/CD pipeline adoption to enable faster, more reliable delivery. Exploring and leveraging open-source opportunities and cutting-edge technologies to stay ahead of industry trends. Contributing to the vision and strategy of hyperscale cloud platforms, aligning architecture with long-term business goals To be successful you will be able to demonstrate with: The scope of this role requires an Australian Government Security Clearance; therefore, applicants must be Australian Citizens and have the ability to obtain and maintain the required security clearance. Technical leadership and architecture expertise with a proven track record of leading technical teams and designing scalable solutions. Business acumen, with the ability to translate complex business requirements into clear technical user stories, epics, and release plans. Exceptional communication skills with the ability to engage stakeholders at all levels. Open-source cloud knowledge, particularly familiarity with OpenStack components such as Nova, Cinder, Glance, Keystone, and Neutron. Hands-on experience with automation toolkits such as Ansible, Terraform, Helm, Puppet, or Chef.
