Base Pay Range A$180,000.00/yr - A$230,000.00/yr Role Overview We are seeking a highly skilled Infrastructure Architect to support the design and development of secure ICT infrastructure for a long-term Defence capability. You will be part of a technically advanced environment, guiding the architectural development of a complex system-of-systems across multiple tranches of delivery. The role may be permanent or contract . Location & Availability This role is based in Canberra, but interstate candidates may be considered. Candidates must be on site 5 days a week. Key Responsibilities Develop and document high‑level system requirements based on strategic guidance and operational objectives. Define system specifications and architectural blueprints for individual technology domains and services. Design and document system interfaces and interactions between subsystems. Collaborate with national security and cyber stakeholders to align with secure ICT architectures and compliance requirements. Provide expert input into technology selection, capability alignment, and solution feasibility. Support the end‑to‑end architecture lifecycle, including design, prototyping, testing, and verification. Work closely with engineering teams to resolve complex technical issues and ensure architectural integrity. Produce models, diagrams, user guides, and system documentation as required. Support technical leadership with planning, reviews, and integration milestones. Required Skills & Experience Extensive experience in complex ICT systems architecture, ideally within secure or Defence environments. Proven understanding of secure network, compute, storage, and identity architectures. Strong knowledge of system decomposition, interface definition, and architecture modelling. Demonstrated ability to engage with multiple technical domains and stakeholders to develop integrated solutions. Familiarity with Zero Trust, micro‑segmentation, cloud integration, and distributed workloads is highly desirable. Must be an Australian Citizen and hold an active Federal Government NV2 clearance.
