JJ&PP pty ltd T/A Mentor Mates Disability Support Service – Wollongong NSW Mentor Mates is an innovative disability support service launched in July 2023, now a registered NDIS provider. We have grown to a team of 70 staff, including 14 full‑time or permanent part‑time employees, and we cultivate a respectful, growth‑oriented atmosphere for our participants and mentors. Team Leader – Disability Support Services We’re looking for an experienced and compassionate Team Leader to oversee a dynamic portfolio of participants, ensuring our staff feel as valued as our clients. Location: Wollongong, NSW (flexible work arrangements available). Key Responsibilities Participant Portfolio Management Manage and support a designated group of participants, serving as their primary point of contact. Build strong relationships with participants and their families, addressing issues proactively (e.g., booking appointments, actioning requests, updating the support team). Operational Coordination Collaborate with scheduling and compliance teams to ensure adequate staffing and up‑to‑date documentation in line with regulatory requirements. Provide leadership and guidance to care teams, maintaining a supportive environment for both participants and staff. Regularly check in with participants and support staff to maintain excellence in care. Stakeholder Liaison Communicate effectively with Coordinators, Guardians, and other stakeholders regarding shift planning, scheduling changes, and participant goals. Partner with our in‑house admin team to produce support reports and keep relevant parties informed. Oversee communication channels, including dedicated WhatsApp groups for quick updates. Community & Social Engagement Lead community initiatives and manage social groups that help participants connect and thrive together. Training & Transition Initial Phase: Onsite training at our Wollongong office, working closely with CEO Patrick and Team Leader Thalia. Learn how to manage participants, coordinate with external stakeholders (Coordinators, BSP, OT, etc.), and support your care teams effectively. Growth & Development: Start with a manageable client portfolio, expanding your responsibilities as you gain confidence and expertise. Transition to more flexible working arrangements once you’re established.
