Aside from being an op‑shop mecca for fans of all things quality and thrift, the shops generate revenue for our broad range of services supporting the community. They may also be a first point of contact for people seeking emergency assistance. The Volunteer Role As a retail volunteer, you will play a central role in the operations of the shop, making a significant and valuable contribution to the St Vincent de Paul Society. Providing customers with an excellent shopping experience; Sorting and pricing donations; Assisting with product display; Processing sales through the Point of Sale (POS) cash register; Keeping the store and sorting area tidy, whilst maintaining safe work practices. Volunteer Profile People person: welcoming, encouraging and positive; Willing to work within the ethos of the St Vincent de Paul Society; Respectful of others and flexible in attitude to work and the team; Good time management and initiative to get the job done. No experience needed as in‑store coaching and training is provided. We welcome those with previous retail or hospitality backgrounds to share their experience with their fellow volunteers in the shop.
