Design Engineer, EIT – Transportation Team Bolton & Menk, a leading community infrastructure solutions provider, invites an entry‑level Civil Engineering EIT to join our Transportation team at the Baxter office. The selected candidate will assist project managers and project engineers with design and construction activities on municipal projects, supporting our mission to build safe, sustainable, and beautiful communities. Position Status: Open to December 2024, May 2025 graduates or an experienced EIT with 1‑3 years of experience. What You Will Be Doing Assist Project Engineers with design and construction phase activities on municipal projects. Perform basic design computations, preliminary layout and design, and prepare rough drafts of preliminary reports and feasibility studies. Assist with project plans and specifications, preparing cost and quantity take‑off estimates. Conduct construction observation activities, including staking, documentation, measuring, testing, and general oversight while interacting with contractors, sub‑contractors, and City staff. What We Are Looking For Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited college. Certified Engineer‑in‑Training or ability to obtain certification within 12 months of hire. Prior experience in infrastructure design and/or construction observation. Proficiency with CAD and design software (e.g., AutoCAD Civil3D, MicroStation). Ready to travel frequently during the construction season. Valid driver’s license. Bolton & Menk will not provide visa sponsorship or Optional Practical Training extensions. Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. at the start of employment. Salary Range $58,000 – $90,000, depending on experience and credentials.
