Social Worker - Youth and Community Service Hub This is a 12-month fixed term, part-time (0.8FTE) position commencing Term 1, 2026. Armadale Senior High School (SHS) is an Independent Public School dedicated to providing students from Year 7 to Year 12 with strong academic achievement and positive engagement. We aim to give every student a positive learning experience and recognise that each student is an individual to be welcomed and respected. Our teachers provide a supportive learning environment through a wide variety of subjects and courses, including English, Mathematics, Science, Humanities, Home Economics, Creative Art, Music, Information Technology, Design and Technology, and Physical Education. The Role In conjunction with the Program Coordinator, Social Workers undertake referral assessment, prepare plans and conduct social‑work intervention with young people and their families. They interview parents/guardians, obtain and evaluate case information from relevant sources, and make external visits as appropriate. Using trauma‑informed models of care, Social Workers act as a link between the young person and community agencies, developing support plans for those with complex needs. A key aspect is outreach support for vulnerable youth across the Armadale, Kelmscott and Byford regions, building rapport, trust and adapting engagement methods to meet individual needs. The successful applicant will also act as a resource person in the school community, participate in school and community projects, attend multi‑disciplinary team meetings and case conferences, consult and advise staff, maintain records, collate statistical data and provide annual and case reports, and assist with submissions on school social‑work issues. Consent to a Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check and obtain a current Screening Clearance Number issued by the Department of Education’s Screening Unit before commencing. Demonstrated knowledge of school systems and operations and skills in working with a multi‑disciplinary team setting. Demonstrated skills and experience working with children and families.
