Senior Legal Counsel – Superannuation/Regulatory/Corporate M&A 8+ years PQE, leadership role reporting to the Head of Legal, providing strategic legal advice across superannuation, corporate law, financial services regulation, commercial contracting, and governance. Flexible hybrid working available and based in Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne, or Perth . Responsibilities Provide strategic legal advice on superannuation, corporate, and financial services matters, ensuring compliance with the SIS Act , Corporations Act , and APRA regulatory standards. Advise on strategic corporate M&A and joint ventures. Advise on intra-fund transfers, successor fund transfers (SFTs), and custodian and administrator transitions, including trust deed interpretation and regulatory considerations. Draft, review, and advise on Product Disclosure Statements (PDS), member and adviser communications, and regulatory documentation. Provide expert legal support on major regulatory reforms, including CPS 230 (Operational Risk Management), CPS 234 (Information Security), Design and Distribution Obligations (DDO), RG97 (Fee and Cost Disclosure). Advise on a range of commercial, procurement, technology, and intellectual property matters across all business units. Qualifications 8+ years PQE within superannuation, funds management, or financial services, gained in-house or with a top/mid‑tier law firm. Strong knowledge of financial services legislation, including the SIS Act, Corporations Act, and APRA prudential standards. Demonstrated experience in product, regulatory, and governance advice including intra-fund transfers, SFTs, and disclosure documentation. Expertise in regulatory compliance and an up-to-date understanding of key reforms (CPS 230, CPS 234, DDO, RG97, Privacy, YFYS). Broad corporate advisory exposure, including mergers & acquisitions.
