The Role We are looking for a caring, organised, and community‑focused Connection Support Worker to join our team. This is a maximum‑term role until 30 November 2026, based in Brisbane, Ipswich, Logan and surrounds. The role is ideal for someone passionate about supporting people from diverse backgrounds. What You’ll Be Doing Provide culturally competent, trauma‑informed support to clients from refugee and humanitarian backgrounds. Assist new clients to attend monthly program information and orientation sessions. Share a monthly calendar of activities and support client participation. Implement Case Management Plans under the direction of the Connection Coordinator. Offer emotional support to clients and escalates wellbeing concerns when needed. Participate in the place‑based intake roster. Respond promptly to crises or incidents and escalates appropriately. Support clients to build meaningful social and cultural connections. Work collaboratively with internal teams to deliver group life‑skills activities and programmes. Maintain accurate and timely client records, data entry, and claims in CSNet and relevant systems. Attend team meetings, case conferences, community events, and other activities as directed. Perform additional duties as required by the Team Leader or Connection Coordinator. Qualifications and Skills Required Possession of a Diploma or Certificate in Social and Community Services (other relevant qualifications or overseas qualifications may also be recognised). Valid Queensland Driver’s Licence. Possession of, or willingness and eligibility to obtain, a Blue Card (Working with Children) and a Queensland National Police Check. Previous work experience in community services, social work, settlement services, case management, or similar fields. Experience working with people from diverse cultural backgrounds, including refugees or migrants. The ability to work in high‑pressure or emotionally demanding environments while maintaining professionalism and care. Availability to work a maximum‑term contract until 30 November 2026 and to cover the locations of Brisbane, Ipswich, Logan and surrounds. Strong communication skills and the capacity to build trusting relationships with clients and colleagues.
