We’re looking for a passionate, vibrant and experienced leader to guide our established wellbeing team in supporting students who deserve a second chance at education and a strong foundation for life. As our Wellbeing Leader, you'll be at the forefront of student support, leading an established team of wellbeing specialists and youth workers to foster a safe, inclusive, and empowering environment where students can thrive — emotionally, socially and academically. You’ll oversee the implementation of wellbeing initiatives, deliver targeted programs to support individual student needs, and work closely with staff to ensure every student feels seen and valued. Y Community School currently operates a senior secondary campus, with future developments including a year 7-9 campus and additional campuses anticipated as opportunities arise. You will lead the wellbeing team at our current campus and guide the development of wellbeing services across future campuses as the school grows. About Us Y Whittlesea is a not‑for‑profit that happens to be part of the oldest youth organisation in the world (YMCA) and oldest social enterprise, where all profits go back into our communities. Established in June 2024, the Y Community School is a fresh initiative, crafting a safe and inclusive learning environment for young people aged 15‑20 who may have faced disengagement from mainstream education. We’re all about providing support, services, and programs to empower individuals to achieve their goals and lead dignified lives. Be a part of something bigger About You You're highly organised, self‑motivated and used to working as part of a team. You have a natural ability to guide others and build strong rapport with students, families and colleagues. Your strategic mindset, willingness to share knowledge, and talent for inspiring and motivating others will set you up for success in this role. Relevant knowledge and skills Legal right to live and work in Australia. Tertiary qualifications in Social Work or equivalent. VIT Registration (preferred) OR current Employee Working with Children Check. National Police Check (and International if you have lived outside Australia in the last 5 years). Current First Aid & CPR (or willing to obtain). Extensive leadership experience in supporting vulnerable young people. Demonstrated ability to work professionally with internal and external stakeholders. Strong commitment to the safety and wellbeing of young people.
