Production Manager

Due to exciting growth, we’re seeking a well‑rounded and motivated Production Manager to oversee the successful operation of our sourdough bakery. We produce a range of sourdough breads for distribution to our retail stores, as well as through our portfolio of wholesale customers and retail partners. In this hands‑on leadership role, you’ll drive performance, quality, and efficiency across the production team, ensuring we consistently deliver exceptional products. Key Responsibilities Lead and motivate production teams to achieve sales, quality, and performance targets Oversee day‑to‑day operations, including quality control, troubleshooting, logistics, and maintenance coordination Manage production scheduling and staffing Drive recruitment, onboarding, and training of team members Establish, monitor, and continuously improve production standards, policies, and processes Promote a strong culture of safety, teamwork, and accountability About You You’re a confident and capable leader with proven experience managing teams – ideally within a bakery or food production environment. You’ll thrive in a fast‑paced setting and take pride in maintaining high standards while driving innovation and growth. Qualifications Strong knowledge of retail bakery operations Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to engage people at all levels A quality‑focused mindset and a passion for innovation Proven experience in recruitment and staff development Strong computer skills (Microsoft Office and rostering software) Excellent numeracy and written communication skills Sound understanding of OHS obligations and a commitment to safety A proactive, adaptable attitude and desire to grow with the business Flexibility to work across a spread of hours, including early mornings, late evenings, and weekends (as required).
