Technical Workshop Assistant – Wetherill Park At CSR, we’re building a better future together. We are a team of 2,600 people across Australia and New Zealand, collaborating every day towards a shared purpose: ‘Building solutions for a better future’. As a leading Australian manufacturing business, we’re at the forefront of developing innovative, sustainable, and high‑performing building products and systems. We put people first. We are committed to creating a safe, respectful, supportive, and inclusive working environment that enables everyone to feel valued, grow, and truly thrive. We are committed to providing equal opportunity for everyone and welcoming people of all backgrounds, identities, experiences, abilities, and life stages. About The Role We’re looking for a Technical Workshop Assistant who is comfortable rolling up their sleeves, working with power tools to build test rigs, preparing and testing products in the laboratory, and getting stuck into real‑world product evaluation. If you like variety, practical problem‑solving and seeing your work feed directly into product development, you’ll fit in here. You’ll be part of the specialised team that keeps CSR’s innovation pipeline moving. This work underpins product compliance, competitor analysis and new product experimentation across the range of CSR products. You’ll play a part in meaningful, hands‑on technical work. What You’ll Do Build mock‑up building assemblies following NCC‑compliant construction methods. Prepare, install and assess new and existing products for ease of install, durability, fit‑for‑purpose performance and benchmarking. Cut samples, set up tests, run lab work and capture accurate, reliable data. Design experiments and assist in test‑method development with Innovation, Category and Compliance teams. Coordinate external testing with bodies like CSIRO and NATA labs. Create prototypes and mock‑ups to support new product development. Prepare customer samples and provide lab‑based support to other technical teams. Write clear reports, comparison summaries and document procedures. About You Experience in lab, workshop or testing environments. Ability to use hand and power tools confidently. Strong written communication and data recording skills. A practical mindset and willingness to be hands‑on every day. Technical trade qualification in a construction‑related field – not essential. Experience building or testing building assemblies. Familiarity with NCC‑compliant construction methods – not essential. Exposure to external testing bodies (CSIRO, NATA labs, universities). Basic project coordination skills. What's In It For You Attractive salary and benefits, including access to exclusive discounts and offers. Supportive and collaborative culture that fosters innovation and inclusion. You’ll be surrounded by talented colleagues who are passionate about their work and committed to helping each other succeed. Care and wellbeing offer includes up to 14 weeks of paid parental leave, 52 weeks of superannuation payment, and access to an employee assistance program. Rewarding career with on‑the‑job learning, development, and upskilling opportunities within and across our brands. How To Apply Just click on the Apply for this job button.
