Overview Join the Speech Pathologist team at Nepean Blue Mountains Local Health District (NBMLHD) . As a permanent, full‑time role you will assess and treat children with speech, language, fluency, voice, and feeding disorders across community and CHC settings. Key Details Employment Type: Permanent, Full Time Classification: Speech Pathologist Level 1 / Level 2 Location: Negotiable (St Clair CHC, St Marys CHC, Penrith CHC, Cranebrook CHC) Remuneration: $76,364 – $108,943 per annum Hours: 38 per week Requisition ID: REQ Applications Close: 15/12/2025 Responsibilities The Speech Pathologist will identify and assess children in the community and CHC settings with speech, language, fluency, voice, and feeding disorders. You will manage these conditions through a range of service delivery models such as parent training, individual and group therapy, and programming aligned with current evidence‑based practice. Key activities include: Conduct assessments and develop culturally sensitive therapy goals. Provide individual and group therapy, including parent training and feeding interventions. Collate and review progress, using the district’s electronic health record system (e.g., CHIME, Cerner, Outlook). Liaise with families, health, education, and welfare agencies for referrals and support. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams within the community setting. Qualifications Degree in Speech Pathology (or equivalent) and eligibility for Speech Pathology Australia membership. Level 1: newly qualified with < 3 years clinical experience. Level 2: minimum 3 years clinical experience and ability to work with minimal supervision. Demonstrated experience providing paediatric speech pathology services and partnership with families. Experience working with families from diverse psychosocial, socio‑economic, and cultural backgrounds. Understanding of primary health care principles and multidisciplinary teamwork. Knowledge of child protection indicators and mandatory reporting guidelines. Experience and commitment to electronic health record systems (CHIME, Cerner, Outlook).
