Senior Guidance Officer - Metropolitan North Region Are you passionate about inclusive education and supporting students with complex needs? This is a temporary full‑time position commencing 19 January 2026 until 26 June 2026, unless otherwise determined. About The Role As a Senior Guidance Officer within the Student Support and Engagement team in Metropolitan North, you will provide expert guidance and counselling services to support students with complex educational, social, and emotional needs. You will work as part of a multidisciplinary team—including Senior Therapists, AVTs, Senior Social Workers, and other professionals—to lead and deliver coordinated, student‑centred support across schools. You will lead collaborative responses with the Student Support and Engagement team and school teams, applying your expertise to guide inclusive practices, trauma‑informed approaches, and complex case management. Through strong partnerships with families, school staff, and external agencies, you will help shape effective strategies that support student wellbeing and engagement. The role is based at either the Nundah or North Lakes office, with flexible work arrangements available to support regional travel and collaboration. Responsibilities Collaborate with school teams and regional staff to support complex case management and inclusive education practices. Lead multidisciplinary and multi‑agency networks to coordinate holistic responses to student needs. Contribute to professional learning and mentoring to build school and team capability in multidisciplinary ways of working, inclusive and trauma‑informed practices. About You Demonstrated experience working within multidisciplinary teams and managing complex student cases. Deep knowledge of inclusive education and trauma‑informed practice. Strong interpersonal and communication skills to build effective relationships with schools, families, and external agencies. Expertise in guidance and counselling within educational settings. A commitment to equity, student wellbeing, and continuous professional growth. Mandatory Requirements Current full registration as a teacher in Queensland. And One Of The Following Completed coursework Masters in guidance and counselling. General or provisional registration as a psychologist. APAC‑accredited psychology qualification eligible for registration. As Well As Current Working with Children Check (Blue Card) issued by Blue‑Card Services (Queensland) or exemption. Current C‑class driver’s licence to enable travel between school sites within the region.
