Senior Occupational Therapist (Clinical) - Metropolitan North Region Join Queensland Government’s Department of Education to support student learning, engagement and wellbeing across the Metropolitan North Region. About The Student Support And Engagement Team (SSE Team) The SSE Team provides multidisciplinary support for individual students through direct‑to‑school services, case management and school leadership advice. Key team members include Deputy Principal, Guidance Officers, AVTs, Senior Therapists (PT, OT, SLP), Senior Social Workers and a Student Support Officer. Responsibilities Use your Occupational Therapy clinical expertise to support school leaders with strategies to maximise learning for students through individualised and differentiated support, whole‑school systems and staff capability development. Support other Occupational Therapists within the region to apply complex, evidence‑based OT to achieve student learning outcomes through differentiated teaching and learning. Develop effective working relationships within the SSE Team, regional and school staff to rapidly respond and contribute to collaborative identification of barriers to student learning, effective evidence‑based adjustments, and achievement of targeted outcomes. Communicate and collaborate with stakeholders within and beyond school and regional teams to facilitate knowledge and resource sharing that contributes to positive and sustainable outcomes for student engagement. Demonstrate high level of leadership, collaboration skills and professionalism during critical situations, supporting the team to recognise gaps in information and seek a prompt and tangible response. Participate as a member of the school team in culturally responsive planning and implementation to maximise student learning, engagement and wellbeing. Travel to schools across the full region; DoE fleet cars are available for this purpose.
