About the role We are now looking for a Legal Counsel to join our Legal team on a permanent, full‑time basis. In this role you will be responsible for providing legal advice and assistance to Tennis Australia and its Member Associations on a range of different legal matters. A key focus area will be advising on industrial relations and employment law to support Tennis’ position as an employer of choice. In this role you will: Partner with the business and provide sound legal advice Prepare, draft and negotiate contracts to support the delivery of the Australian tennis strategy Undertake legal research and stay up to date with legal changes Update and maintain legal management platforms Provide education and training About you To be successful in this role you will have: 3 to 6 years post‑admission experience working as a lawyer within a law firm or in‑house legal team with a focus on employment/IR law Experience conducting investigations and Fair Work matters Hold a principal practising certificate or be willing to upgrade your current practising certificate to a principal practising certificate within the first 3 months in the role (essential) Experience advising on employment law and industrial relations and contracting matters (essential) Demonstrated experience in contract drafting and negotiations Attention to detail and proactive problem‑solving skills Excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to partner effectively with the business Hold (or be willing to obtain) a current Police Check and Working with Children Check Preparedness to be flexible in regard to working hours and arrangements relating to work associated with Tennis Australia What’s to love?
