Connecting Lawyers with Opportunities in Financial Services & Real Estate - Senior Consultant @ Beacon Legal Beacon Legal have partnered with a leading Australian financial services business in their search for a new Legal Counsel. They are looking to hire someone at the 3–5 PQE level, to be based in their Sydney or Melbourne office. We’re seeking a proactive and motivated banking & finance lawyer to support a dynamic and growing legal team. This role offers the opportunity to work across a wide range of transactional, restructuring and commercial matters in a business operating at the forefront of institutional debt administration. About the Role Lead and support the negotiation, drafting and review of complex financing documentation, including APLMA/LMA/LSTA leveraged finance, investment grade facilities, debt capital markets instruments and structured finance documents. Assist with transactions spanning direct lending, acquisition finance, project finance, corporate restructures and special situations. Act as a key escalation point for legal queries across the business and support teams operating across multiple jurisdictions. Instruct and manage external counsel. Assist the business development team with the structuring of transactions and provide legal input on new product development. What type of person will be successful? Admitted as a lawyer in Australia. Practising as a banking & finance or restructuring lawyer for 3–5 years in private practice or in‑house. Strong working knowledge of APLMA documentation. General banking and finance experience. Exposure to debt capital markets, structured finance or securitisation is a bonus. Excellent analytical, organisational and stakeholder management skills. Collaborative, adaptable and self‑motivated. Strong communication and negotiation skills. Thrives in fast‑paced, evolving environments.
