About You As an Assistant Year Coordinator (1pt), you will inspire students through engaging, student‑centered teaching within a Catholic learning environment. The position is a 1‑point promotional role, temporary for up to 3 years; however your teaching position will be full‑time and permanent. The Assistant Year Coordinator works closely with the Year Coordinator and Pastoral Care Coordinator, supporting students' learning through supporting their pastoral needs. This is a Middle Leadership position, responsible for working closely with families, staff and students. This role focuses on managing the well‑being needs of the College, to support the faith life, pastoral and curriculum needs of the school. You'll Bring Expertise and experience in your subject area, with capacity to teach Religious Education (advantageous); a tertiary qualification in Education; NESA accreditation; commitment to the Catholic ethos of the College, the Catholic Church and the wellbeing of all community members; ability to create and implement engaging, rigorous planned learning experiences catering to the diverse needs of students; commitment to academic excellence; excellent classroom management skills focused on student well‑being; demonstrated organisational, management and leadership skills; attention to detail to assist in implementing SCS policies and procedures to support students with complex social‑emotional needs and behaviours; exemplary teacher experience with the ability to integrate successful pedagogical practices in the classroom, programming and assessment; capacity to communicate effectively whilst maintaining confidentiality and discretion to support the dignity of all students, parents and staff; confidence to make decisions to implement SCS policies and procedures; demonstrated high‑level interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively, delegate, team‑build, and resolve conflict appropriately; ability to interact and network with a wide range of people, including staff, students, parents and external providers; confidence in conflict resolution to support students with challenging behaviours; highly developed communication skills, both verbal and written; leadership skills to develop pastoral initiatives to promote relational trust; capabilities of managing conflict with students, staff and parents underpinned by the principles of Restorative Justice.
