Construction Project Officer – Cumberland City Council We are seeking a Construction Project Officer to join our City Assets and Construction unit. The role delivers construction works across all asset classes including renewal works and new builds, ensuring successful implementation of Council’s Capital Projects and Renewal Works Program for Buildings, Parks, Reserves and Facilities Assets. Location Cumberland City Council is located 20km west of Sydney on Dharug country. The council serves a population of over 245,000 across a diverse community of residents from many backgrounds and cultures. Responsibilities Lead the planning, management and delivery of construction projects for Council assets. Coordinate across multiple disciplines to ensure project quality, cost, and schedule targets are met. Oversee financial management of projects, including cost tracking and reporting. Provide customer service and maintain strong relationships with contractors, consultants and internal stakeholders. Qualifications & Experience Tertiary qualifications in a related technical field or management (Diploma of Project Management or Building/Civil Construction) or at least 5 years of relevant work experience. Experience managing delivery services in an operations‑based organisation. Ability to deliver services across a spread of disciplines. Strong listening, coordinating, motivating, prioritising, assessing, problem‑solving, customer service and teamwork skills. Ability to oversee financial management of projects. Computer literacy, especially in MS Office. Advanced written and verbal communication skills. White Card. Class C driver licence. Employment Details Permanent, full‑time position. 70 hour fortnight. Access to Council’s 9 day fortnight Accrued Day Off (ADO). Located at Council’s Auburn Depot; frequent travel across Council worksites required. Salary & Benefits Grade 12 of the Cumberland Salary Structure with a salary range of $1,899.71 to $2,184.67 per week plus 12 % superannuation. Commencing salary negotiated based on qualifications, skills and experience. Mobile phone provided. Flexible working arrangements, including work‑from‑home options.
