Project Manager

In consultation with relevant stakeholders, and in accordance with QBCC Project Management methodologies, develop, implement, update, monitor, manage and communicate key project management artefacts, financial management tools, steering committees and working groups or and sprint planning.
Perform designated project activities and execute deliverables as per the project schedule.
Undertake contract administration of contracts with suppliers, as required.
Manage, direct and coordinate the project team to ensure the best use of available resources, and to utilise strengths in key team members. Actively prioritise activities & issues depending on impact, priority, and criticality.
Show judgement, intelligence and common-sense. Undertake objective, systematic analysis and draw accurate conclusions based on evidence. Recognise the links between interconnected issues. Identify problems and work to resolve them.
Monitor progress and adjust plans as required and commit to achieving quality outcomes and adhere to documentation procedures. Show initiative and take personal responsibility for meeting objectives, progressing work, and keeping stakeholders informed.
Develop an in-depth knowledge of the QBCC's Projects and Program of Works, and relevant policies, procedures, and processes.
Actively participate in ad-hoc activities and projects as determined by the Chief Financial Officer. Your responsibilities also extend to any tasks outlined on a duties list, or any other tasks delegated to you by your manager/supervisor, provided that those new job requirements are safe, efficient, relevant, legal and within your abilities.
Candidate AttributesDemonstrated project management experience and proven ability to successfully drive, coordinate and implement large, complex projects using a collaborative, transparent, contemporary approach. Extensive experience in coordinating the delivery of multiple concurrent technical projects.
Excellent stakeholder engagement, interpersonal, and communications skills (both written and verbal). Ability to communicate and elicit cooperation at all levels, including technical staff, management, and external parties. Excellent negotiation, report writing and presentation skills. Persuasive, encouraging and motivating.
Possess well developed time management skills and demonstrated ability to effectively manage multiple tasks and a diverse range of activities, with conflicting priorities, and meet deadlines. Ability to drive meetings and effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment. Can conform to shifting priorities, demands and timelines through analytical and problem-solving capabilities. Reacts to project adjustments and alterations promptly and efficiently.
Motivates individuals and creates a culture where people want to ‘go the extra mile'. Focuses strongly on the achievement of results and builds a cohesive and supportive team environment. Experienced in people and team management and can work independently and/or in a team-orientated collaborative environment. Ability to defuse tension among the project team and/or project stakeholders.
