The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing, coating, and finishing a variety of surfaces across commercial and industrial projects in the Townsville region. Key Duties and Responsibilities Prepare surfaces by cleaning, sanding, filling cracks and holes, and sealing. Mix and match paint colours and apply paints, stains, varnishes, and other finishes using brushes, rollers, or spray guns. Protect adjacent surfaces not to be painted by masking and covering as required. Erect and safely use scaffolding, ladders, and other equipment. Ensure all work meets company quality and safety standards. Maintain painting tools and equipment in good condition. Follow all site safety, environmental, and company procedures. Skills and Experience Required Relevant trade qualification in Painting and Decorating (e.g., Certificate III) or equivalent skills and experience gained through substantial practical work in the painting trade. Minimum 3 years of relevant work experience in the painting trade. Strong knowledge of painting materials, application techniques, and surface preparation. Ability to interpret plans, drawings, and specifications. Attention to detail and commitment to high-quality workmanship. Construction White Card or willing to obtain.
