Overview National Parks and Wildlife Service (NPWS) has a unique opportunity for a Senior Project Officer, Land Acquisitions to support the Biodiversity and Ecological Health Branch and contribute towards the conservation of the natural environment, flora, fauna and Aboriginal heritage. About the Role We are seeking a driven and proactive individual who thrives in a small, agile and results-focused team environment. Demonstrated success in developing and implementing comprehensive strategies for a compulsory land acquisition program is essential. You will be responsible for the planning, development, and delivery of complex acquisition initiatives that align with the strategic direction of the Department of Climate Change, Energy, the Environment and Water and NPWS. You will shape and manage a high-performing program by establishing strong systems, processes, and collaborative practices to ensure efficient and effective outcomes. This role requires leadership in managing compulsory acquisition programs in accordance with the Land Acquisition (Just Terms Compensation) Act, with a focus on governance across safety, cultural heritage and environmental considerations. About You You will bring expertise in providing high-level strategic advice and insights to stakeholders, navigating project challenges and supporting the development and execution of initiatives that align with defined plans, budgets, timelines, environmental goals and priorities. Knowledge and Experience Extensive experience managing land acquisition and transfer programs within tight timeframes and budgetary constraints, complying with the Land Acquisition (Just Terms Compensation) Act Extensive experience in analysis, problem solving, and project management with a proven ability to identify issues and manage competing priorities while meeting deadlines Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to consistently deliver high-quality customer service against agreed performance standards Essential Requirements Degree or equivalent qualifications in law, property valuation, land economics, or other relevant property-related discipline and/or equivalent professional experience Class C Driver's Licence What We Can Offer You NSW National Parks and Wildlife Service offers opportunities to grow your career and develop your skills.
