Workfast is seeking an experienced Maintenance Fitter to join a leading manufacturing and engineering facility at Minto, NSW. This is an ongoing casual position with full-time hours and a temp-to-perm opportunity for the right candidate.Details: Pay Rate: $52.00 p/hr + OT + SuperLocation: Minto, NSWStart: ASAPHours: 7am to 3:30pm (Monday to Friday) About the Role You will work within an industrial manufacturing environment that produces structural steel and safety-barrier systems — a company known for its high standards of quality, compliance and sustainability. The role involves maintaining plant machinery, performing preventive and corrective maintenance, supporting production lines, and helping to ensure all equipment runs smoothly and safely. What You Will Be Doing Inspecting, troubleshooting, and repairing mechanical equipment (conveyors, press tools, gearboxes, hydraulic & pneumatic systems) Conducting scheduled preventive maintenance to reduce downtime Dismantling, reassembling, and adjusting machinery components as needed Fabricating or modifying parts using lathes, mills, grinders, welding equipment (if qualified) Responding to breakdowns and urgent mechanical faults Assisting with installation and commissioning of new machinery Maintaining accurate maintenance records and documentation Collaborating with production and fabrication teams to resolve technical issues Adhering to WHS protocols including LOTO, PPE, hazard reporting, and safe work practices What You Need Trade qualification or equivalent mechanical/maintenance background Proven industrial maintenance experience (manufacturing, heavy industry, steel or fabrication plants) Strong mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic fault-finding and repair skills Physically fit and comfortable working in industrial / manufacturing environments Good communication, documentation and reporting skills Welding or fabrication experience (MIG / TIG / ARC) is highly regarded CMMS experience preferred but not essential Commitment to safety, quality and procedural compliance What You Get $52.00 p/hr + Overtime + Super Temp-to-perm opportunity – pathway to long-term employment Immediate start with full-time hours (minimum 38 hrs/week) Work within a leading manufacturing business with strong industry reputation and high standards Opportunity for long‑term career advancement and skills development About us Workfast is a labour hire company working with some of Australia’s largest and leading building companies.
