About The Role As a Carer Gateway Counsellor, you’ll be part of a multidisciplinary team delivering in‑person counselling services that are inclusive, person‑centred, and responsive to the diverse needs of carers. Key Responsibilities Providing counselling through in‑person sessions, phone, and virtual platforms Traveling to meet carers in their communities Enjoy working in a team, office and hub location Facilitating therapeutic groups and workshops About You We’re looking for someone who embraces change with curiosity and optimism, can adapt with grace, respond with creativity, and stay grounded while navigating reform. You bring warmth, empathy and a professionalism to every interaction, leading with curiosity and creating a safe, compassionate space. What You’ll Need Accreditation with one of the following: Australian Counselling Association (ACA), Psychotherapy and Counselling Federation of Australia (PACFA), Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW – accredited ordinary member) Experience with clinical therapies such as Rogerian and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy Background in similar roles, ideally within large or complex organisations Professional indemnity insurance Valid Australian working rights Current driver’s licence and willingness to travel Completion of the NDIS Worker Orientation Module (free online course) Satisfactory National Police Records Check, NDIS Worker Screening Check, and Working with Children Check (Employee/Paid) Ability to use information management systems effectively to uphold Carer Gateway standards of timely, accurate, and person‑centred service documentation Why Join Us Purpose‑Driven Culture: Be part of a team that puts people first.
