Bookkeeper – Small Business Accounting Firm

Are you a motivated, detail-oriented bookkeeper who loves helping small businesses thrive? We're a small but growing accounting firm based in Moreton Bay, specialising in small business accounting and advisory services. We're looking for a proactive and experienced bookkeeper to join our friendly and supportive team. About the Role This is a work-from-home (remote) position, but you'll preferably be based locally in the Brisbane or Moreton Bay region for occasional in-person team meetings, training, and client visits if required. You will manage bookkeeping for a range of small business clients providing a proactive, value-added service from the comfort of your own home office. Key Responsibilities Prepare BAS and other compliance reports Complete Xero coding, payroll, and bank reconciliations Set up and customize Xero chart of accounts for new clients Generate and interpret cashflow and management reports Communicate with clients to resolve queries and provide bookkeeping support Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant records across multiple clients Liaise with clients via phone, email, and Zoom calls (occasional in-person contact if needed) Work independently using Xero and associated cloud-based tools About You Minimum 5 years bookkeeping experience (public practice experience highly regarded) Proficient in Xero (certified preferred) and Hubdoc Strong understanding of GST, BAS, and payroll compliance Excellent communication and client service skills Able to manage multiple clients and meet deadlines Self-motivated, reliable, and eager to learn and grow Role Details Hours : approx. 30 hours per week (have Friday's off, or work school hours M-F) Location : 100% remote (work from home) Start : Flexible — ideally ASAP Casual with opportunity to move to permanent part-time/full-time within 12 months Why Join Us?
