Claims Advisor – Canberra Job No: | Permanent Full Time | Pay Band 3 Location: Canberra | Industry: Insurance Suncorp Group is seeking an empathetic and customer‑focused individual to join the GIO Workers Compensation Claims Team in Canberra as a Claims Advisor. What you will do Manage a portfolio of Workers Compensation Claims from initial contact to return to work. Accurately review and assess claims in line with the ACT Workers Compensation Act and internal policies. Clear and concise communication with all stakeholders. Engage with ACT Market employers and brokers to enable collaborative portfolio management and quality reviews. Manage workflow to ensure all activities are completed within applicable timeframes. Collaborate with internal support and external stakeholders to ensure proactive case management and best customer outcomes. Provide an excellent level of customer service to employers and injured workers through compliance with legislation and timely response. What you will bring Experience with Workers Compensation / personal injury claims is desired. Allied Health experience would be highly regarded but not essential. Strong team player with a proven track record of providing excellent customer service. Exceptional listening and communication skills in a high‑volume work environment. Strong analytical or Quality Assurance focus. Ability to demonstrate compassion and empathy for the customer. Proven ability to build rapport with customers and key partners. Ability to interpret complex information and respond by developing appropriate actions. High standard of written and verbal communication skills. Effective time management skills with the ability to adhere to strict legislative timeframes. High level of resilience and ability to manage complex, sensitive and challenging matters.
