Maintenance Tech Grade 2 - Maintenance Operations NSW Downer Rail and Transit Systems (RTS) has a fantastic opportunity for a Train Technician to join ourAuburn facilities in NSW.We have 10-year contracts that will enable you to grow and develop a career in the rail industry. ThisFull time -Fixed termrole is a key component of Downer Rail's multi-skilled team and plays a critical role in the delivery and reliability of the Rollingstock at our Auburn facility. About the role: The key responsibility of this role is to ensure that the service requirements are met and the trains enter service on time and defect free - whilst we are completing all necessary documentation to drive the Downer standard of work. You will carry out defect rectification and routine maintenance on rolling stock. 24/7 rotating shift roster based on an employee driven rotating roster. - this will enable you to plan in advance around hours that are split evenly across weekdays and weekends. You will be required to complete 3 months training and development phase to ensure you are safe and technically comfortable with the work ahead. This role will ensure you have a schedule of works that you will plan and ensure safe and efficient completion of tasks. ABOUT YOU: You must have Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF)minimum level 3aligned Mechanical or Electrical Trade qualifications. (Other related disciplines will also be considered - however please ensure this is Level AQF) Ability to work in a fast pace working environment. You should be able to read, comprehend and apply technical drawings for effective maintenance Sound Knowledge of IT systems and strong computer skills Knowledge of engineering best practices and electric traction is desirable You should be able to recognise and manage challenges to help drive continuous improvement.
