With close to 1000 staff across 23 technical disciplines in APAC, we offer global consultancy advice and support on a wide range of strategic and site-specific issues to a diverse and growing base of business, regulatory and governmental clients.We have an exciting opportunity for a highly experienced Principal Environmental Consultant to join our internationally recognised Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) team based in Brisbane. Our team provides a wide range of project management, due diligence, EIA and approval services. This opportunity has a strong focus on the Resources sector and the Environmental, Protection and Biodiversity Conservation (EPBC) Act . Our Brisbane EIA team are diverse well-renowned, and work from our modern offices on Eagle Street with stunning bridge and river views.As a Resource Approvals, EIA and EPBC Referral expert, you will have circa 15 years' experience in consulting, government or industry. You will enjoy undertaking project work whilst mentoring team members and developing client relationships throughout the region. You will also collaborate on projects with the national EIA group, and many of the other 23 technical teams within our multi-disciplinary business. Key Responsibilities Your responsibilities will include: Providing advice on best practice EIA, EPBC and management principles to clients and internal SLR team members Developing, facilitating and enhancing effective relationships with our clients and internal SLR team members, particularly across other technical disciplines Leading and working with multidisciplinary teams to deliver projects across various sectors Assisting in the development and implementation of team business plans and strategies Working closely with the team lead to drive team and company growth Conducting thorough technical reviews and mentoring/development of junior staff Delivering clear and precise, high-quality reports Occasionally travelling to undertake field assessments and site familiarisation walk-overs Experience Along with a great attitude and the ability to contribute to our friendly team, we are looking for: A degree in Environmental Science, Engineering or a related field Minimum of 15 years' experience in Environmental Impact Assessment and primary state and commonwealth approvals Strong experience in Mining/Resources sector A proven name in the resources sector and the ability to win work through business development and demonstrated client management expertise Demonstrated experience directing and managing multidisciplinary projects Demonstrated knowledge of state and Commonwealth environmental legislation and policies, standards and guidelines Strong attention to detail Excellent written and verbal communication skills Australian Citizenship or rights to work in Australia Our Benefits We are most proud of our diverse, friendly and expert team, who work together to collaborate on projects to get the best possible outcome for our clients.Whether you’re enjoying our flexible hybrid work environment, needing support studying whilst working, or at that time in your life where a supportive and generous parental leave scheme is key… Our benefits aim to ensure that we cater for all.You can find a comprehensive list here.
