Staff Specialist - Laboratory Haematology and Clinical Haematology - Prince of Wales Hospital (eCred) Join NSW Health Pathology as a Staff Specialist – Laboratory Haematology and Clinical Haematology at Prince of Wales Hospital. Employment Type: Permanent Part Time (up to 0.8 FTE) Position Classification: Staff Specialist Specialty: Laboratory Haematology and Clinical Haematology Facility: Prince of Wales Hospital Hours Per Week: 32 Start Date: 20 February 2026 Requisition ID: REQ About This Job The Haematology Department at Randwick is seeking an experienced laboratory and clinical Haematologist to join the team at POWH. Highly desirable skills and experience include higher qualifications in a related field (PhD or MD equivalent), current clinical and/or laboratory research (or recent experience), and a strong current laboratory focus in haematology laboratory practice other than genomics (for example, transfusion or flow cytometry). What You’ll Be Doing Provide high quality diagnostic, consultative, procedural and on‑call specialist services in Laboratory Haematology and Clinical Haematology. Participate in teaching, research, quality improvement and administrative activities commensurate with the Staff Specialists (State) Award. Ensure a high standard of professional performance and support an academic environment that encourages research and development. Selection Criteria Currently registered or eligible for registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA), obtained Fellowship of the Royal College of Pathologists of Australasia in Laboratory Haematology and obtained Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians in Clinical Haematology, and/or other specialist recognition as provided under the Staff Specialists (State) Award. Applicants expected to obtain Fellowship with the RCPA and RACP by Feb 2026 are eligible to apply. Demonstrated commitment to basic, applied or clinical research and/or medical education and staff training. Proven ability to work as a team member with effective communication, interpersonal skills and adaptability to work within a multidisciplinary team environment. Demonstrated personal qualities including effective communication skills, motivation, initiative, time management and commitment to professional development. Demonstrated commitment to the principles of clinical quality management, continuous improvement and a contemporary knowledge of National Pathology Accreditation Advisory Council (NPAAC) Standards and NATA accreditation processes. Demonstrated contemporary clinical knowledge and technical expertise in the specialty of Laboratory Haematology and Clinical Haematology.
