Learn more about our network: Employment Type : Temporary and Permanent Part-Time and Full-Time positions available Position Classification : Staff Specialist Hours Per Week : Up to 40 Requisition ID : REQ Applications are via eCredential The General Medicine department at Sydney Children's Hospital, Randwick are seeking motivated and committed Staff Specialists to join their team with a total of 1.9 FTE for both temporary and permanent positions available. The minimum permanent fraction offered is 0.6 FTE. Temporary FTE allocations will be determined in line with service requirements. What you'll be doing Provide excellent clinical services to children with general medical problems and their families as part of a multi‑disciplinary team. Participate in review and improvement activities, as well as training and education of staff. Abide by the hospital code of conduct and participate in annual performance reviews for clinical services in accordance with the Staff Specialist (State) Award. Teaching at undergraduate and postgraduate level. General Paediatric Outpatient Clinic. Clinical Role including on‑call in both Medical Assessment Unit and General Medical on‑call. Contributing to service development, research, guideline development and regular team talk meetings. Research into appropriate clinical areas. Please note: To be eligible for permanent appointment to a position in NSW Health, you must have an Australian citizenship or permanent Australian residency. Eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia as a Specialist Paediatrician, and/or overseas trained specialist pathways. Demonstrated recent clinical experience in General Paediatrics at the role delineation of the service. Demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team and provide leadership of a team. Demonstrated effective clinical communication through the use of information technology and written, verbal and interpersonal skills. Demonstrated commitment to teaching, continuing education, research and quality improvement. Proven recent clinical expertise in the management of children with tertiary general medical conditions. Proven ability to embrace and manage new models of care and ability to manage and work within an interdisciplinary team. Availability to participate in an on‑call roster and to respond on site within a reasonable time. The preferred applicant may be considered for the award of a conjoint academic title at a level commensurate with his/her qualifications and experience. The award of the academic title will also confer membership upon the appointee of the relevant University. The academic title will be held for the duration of The Sydney Children’s Hospitals Network appointment. No remuneration is attached to the University appointment. The appointee will be responsible to the University for academic matters and to The Sydney Children’s Hospitals Network for clinical matters. Need more information?
