Responsibilities Provide excellent clinical services to children and their families as part of a multi-disciplinary team. Participate in review and improvement activities, as well as training and education of staff. Abide by the hospital code of conduct and participate in annual performance reviews for clinical services in accordance with the Staff Specialist (State) Award. Please note: To be eligible for permanent appointment to a position in NSW Health, you must have an Australian citizenship or permanent Australian residency. The preferred applicant may be considered for the award of a conjoint academic title (levels A to D) in the Faculty of Medicine and Health at the University of Sydney at a level commensurate with his/her qualifications and experience. The award of the academic title will also confer membership upon the appointee of the University Department of Paediatrics and Child Health. The academic title will be held for the duration of The Children’s Hospital at Westmead appointment. No remuneration is attached to the University appointment. The appointee will be responsible to the University for academic matters and to The Children’s Hospital at Westmead for clinical matters. Qualifications Eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia as a Specialist Paediatrician (FRACP) and as a Specialist in Pain Medicine (FFPMANZCA), and/or overseas trained specialist pathways. Demonstrated recent clinical experience in Pain Medicine at the role delineation of the service (acute, chronic, cancer pain) Substantial experience in oncology pain management, including in the setting of bone marrow transplant Demonstrated effective clinical communication using information technology and excellent written, verbal and interpersonal skills Demonstrated commitment to teaching, continuing education, research and quality improvement.
