The Cancer Centre for Children at The Sydney Children’s Hospital at Westmead are seeking a Permanent 0.2FTE (8 hours per week) Staff Specialist to join their team as soon as possible. Responsibilities Provide excellent clinical services to children and their families as part of a multi-disciplinary team. Participate in review and improvement activities, as well as training and education of staff. Abide by the hospital code of conduct and participate in annual performance reviews for clinical services in accordance with the Staff Specialist (State) Award. Please note: To be eligible for permanent appointment to a position in NSW Health, you must have an Australian citizenship or permanent Australian residency. The preferred applicant may be considered for the award of a conjoint academic title (levels A to D) in the Faculty of Medicine and Health at the University of Sydney at a level commensurate with his/her qualifications and experience. The award of the academic title will also confer membership upon the appointee of the University Department of Paediatrics and Child Health. The academic title will be held for the duration of The Children's Hospital at Westmead appointment. No remuneration is attached to the University appointment. The appointee will be responsible to the University for academic matters and to The Children's Hospital at Westmead for clinical matters. Qualifications Eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia as a Specialist Paediatric Oncologist, and/or overseas trained specialist pathways. Clinical experience in Paediatric Oncology at the role delineation of the service. Demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team and provide leadership of a team. Demonstrated effective clinical communication through the use of information technology and written, verbal and interpersonal skills. Demonstrated commitment to teaching, continuing education, research and quality improvement. Clinical experience in management of paediatric patients with vascular anomalies. Demonstrated knowledge application of precision medicine in biology and treatment of growth anomalies and malignancies. Ability to participate in an on-call roster and to respond on site within a reasonable time.
