An exciting opportunity exists for an appropriately experienced Registered Nurse to act in the temporary role of Clinical Nurse Specialist Grade 2 (CNS2) Endocrine 8 hrs per week. Where you'll be working The Registered Nurse works closely with the multidisciplinary team of the Endocrine Department. The RN will be involved in undertaking dynamic endocrine testing, providing endocrine specific medication education, assisting in the clinic setting and venepuncture. What you'll be doing The purpose of the Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) position is to provide senior nursing clinical leadership in the development of specialist clinical practice and service delivery within a nursing unit, team or service. The CNS employs advanced clinical skills and exercises extended autonomy of decision making working closely with managers and other senior clinicians. People of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander background are encouraged to apply. Qualifications Current registration as a Registered Nurse with the Australian Nurse Health Practitioner Regulation Authority (AHPRA) with relevant post‑registration qualifications and at least 3 years’ experience working in the clinical area of their specified post‑graduate qualification or such other qualifications or relevant equivalent experience. Demonstrated knowledge and ability to mentor and coach nursing staff to enhance professional development. Demonstrated experience in leading and initiating activities to improve clinical service delivery and patient clinical outcomes. Experience in teaching patients and carers. Demonstrated ability to work individually and as part of a multidisciplinary team. Demonstrated interest in dynamic endocrine testing, medication education and venepuncture.
