The Coordinator works collaboratively with relevant Griffith University departments and Student Guild stakeholders to implement services that meet the academic and navigational needs of students. Additionally, the Coordinator manages the daily operations and staff of the reception area. Specific initiatives and services within the Academic Support Department are subject to change with student and organisational demands; however, currently include Assignment Help, Student Advocacy, Campus Tours, Reception and more. Whether you’re leading a team, driving service improvement, managing events, or supporting students one‑on‑one, you’ll contribute to the Guild’s mission to enhance student life and create a community where everyone belongs. You’ll join a collaborative and passionate team that’s all about creating real impact for students. The position attracts a salary of between $74,783 - $79,316 plus 12% superannuation and is a full‑time role. About the Student Guild The Griffith University Gold Coast (GUGC) Student Guild is an independent, not‑for‑profit student association representing and supporting more than 17,000 students. We work closely with Griffith University and community partners to create a vibrant, inclusive, and supportive campus experience. The Guild has three divisions – Student Services, Business Services, and Commercial Services – led by our Chief Executive Officer and governed by a hybrid Board of elected student representatives and external skills‑based members. Our purpose is simple: to support students and enhance student life. Our vision? To create a thriving student community where every student feels they belong and are empowered for their future. This position sits within Student Services, which delivers programs and initiatives that enhance the student experience across wellbeing, student welfare, social and community events, academic support, careers and employability, sport, student clubs and societies, and volunteering. The team is dedicated to helping students feel supported, connected, and ready to thrive. Key Selection criteria Minimum bachelor level qualification from a tertiary university Significant practical experience in academic or student support Sound understanding of the tertiary education system including admissions, academic processes, examination requirements and study assistance programs Experience developing and managing a customer service function or programs Strong stakeholder management experience both internally and externally with the ability to effectively communicate with a diverse range of individuals, including culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds Demonstrated strong organisational skills, time management skills, a high level of attention to detail, and the ability to respond efficiently to competing demands Experience working within the Higher Education Sector An advanced understanding of the higher education sector with the ability to interpret policies, regulations and structures to students. Experience managing conflict and working with stakeholders one on one to navigate difficult conversations remotely or in person. Demonstrated experience engaging young people aged 18-25 People management and leadership experience Requirements Have a current driver’s licence; An understanding of and commitment to the Student Guild’s purpose, vision, and values. Have an understanding of and an ability to work within the values of, and comply with Student Guild and Griffith University policies and relevant legislation within the organisation and its work.
