This is a hands‑on role where you’ll play a key part in ensuring the hospital environment remains safe, functional, and welcoming. This permanent full‑time role runs Monday to Friday 7am‑3:30pm with occasional opportunities for overtime. Every third Saturday, you’ll work at penalty rates and enjoy the following Friday as a rostered day off. Why work for Ventia? About the Role As a Maintenance Officer (Handyman), you’ll deliver planned, preventative, and reactive maintenance services, as well as lifecycle replacements. Your day to day will include: Completing allocated work orders promptly and efficiently. Assisting qualified tradespeople with maintenance activities. Repairing and replacing furniture, fridges, fixtures, and fittings. Performing basic tasks such as hanging doors, replacing curtain hooks, ceiling tiles, and operating power tools. Carrying out plastering and painting—a significant part of the role. About You We welcome ex‑tradies – electricians, HVACs, Plumbers, Painters, Plasterers who are happy to work in a maintenance role. Previous experience as a Trade Assistant, Handyman, or in General Maintenance (trade qualification not essential). White card required. High level written and communication skills.
