Our team is responsible for harmonising the Civil/Military Air Traffic Management System (CMATS / OneSKY) in Australia to support both Airservices Australia and Defence. Role We are seeking Junior to Intermediate Software Engineers with experience in Core Java and either JavaFX, Java Swing, AngularJS, ReactJS or similar front‑end frameworks. Responsibilities Design and deliver software that meets business requirements, including design, reuse, development, integration, and verification. Define and tailor the software engineering environment, processes, practices, and tools for the project. Ensure that the designed solution is developed according to schedule, cost, and quality expectations. Identify risks, propose solutions, execute mitigation actions, and report on residual risks. This position is hybrid: 3 days in the office and 2 days working from home based at our Melbourne CBD office. Qualifications Relevant bachelor’s or master’s degree. Skills & Experience Australian citizen – required for clearance. 2‑5 years of Core Java experience with a front‑end technology (JavaFX/Java Swing/AngularJS/ReactJS). Experience working within highly regulated domains (Transport, Banking, Healthcare, Aerospace, etc.). A Defence security clearance is required for this role. Applicants must be Australian citizens and eligible to obtain and maintain an appropriate clearance. Additional information about clearances is available from the Australian Government Security Vetting Agency website . In some cases, individuals who hold a current clearance from a foreign government may be eligible to have this clearance recognised by the Australian Government and be eligible for this role. The Australian Defence Trade Controls Act (DTCA) is applicable and may influence suitability.
