Job Description Oaks Gladstone Grand Hotel are looking for an experienced and passionate Sous Chef to join our team on a part‑time basis. Working closely with the Head Chef, this position will be responsible for the formulation of culinary dishes, whilst supervising and providing guidance to the kitchen and restaurant teams. Key Responsibilities Include Work alongside, direct and support kitchen team members ensuring excellence and consistency in the product delivered to customers Oversee the performance of kitchen team members, upholding a standard of excellence and uniformity in the products offered to guests Assist in the creation of menus, along with their corresponding cost analysis Manage inventory levels and oversee all back‑of‑house food and labour expenses Implement procedures to ensure an elevated standard of presentation, sanitation, service, and product calibre Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations and food standards Manage the recruitment, induction, training, and rostering of all kitchen team members Curate and refine recipes to meet discerning culinary preferences, restrictions, and sensitivities Craft meals tailored to an array of dietary limitations and allergies Shift Details Rotating roster across Monday to Sunday AM and PM shifts available Immediate start day available Qualifications Hold relevant Certificate III Cookery qualifications At least two years' experience working as a Sous Chef Exceptional leadership skills, with experience in leading and motivating a highly skilled and diverse team Be able to work under pressure within a dynamic team environment Excellent interpersonal and communication skills Availability to work a variety of shifts as required, including weekends and public holidays Additional Information Career Growth : Learning and development programs to boost your career.
