Pavement Manager Location: Perth Category: Engineering Contract: Fulltime, 40 hours per week, Hybrid Available when employed for 3 months, OT is available on occasion. BEAR Scotland is a leading provider of road maintenance and management services, proudly responsible for the upkeep and enhancement of the country’s vital trunk road network — including bridges and key infrastructure — across some of the most scenic and challenging terrain in the UK. Our Northwest Trunk Road Unit spans over 1,422km of roadways, stretching from the rugged beauty of Thurso and Wick in the far north, down to the coastal charm of Campbeltown in Argyll and Bute. It connects communities from Uig on the Isle of Skye to the historic cities of Perth and Stirling, offering a unique opportunity to work across a landscape that’s as diverse as it is inspiring. We have an exciting opportunity for a Pavement Manager to join our existing team on a full‑time basis. Reporting to the Roads Manager/Planned Maintenance Manager, you will be responsible for the day‑to‑day management of a team delivering the investigation and design of Structural Maintenance schemes within the North West area. Roles and Responsibilities Managing the pavement team to ensure scheme approvals meet delivery deadlines Coordinating delivery of technical reports/studies to Transport Scotland Liaising with Transport Scotland at regular technical workshops to discuss specific scheme challenges and solutions Prioritising team workload to ensure programme dates are achieved Knowledge, Skills and Experience Professionally qualified or working towards professional qualification (IEng/CEng) Knowledge of current design standards Working knowledge of contract control and management systems Ability to work to tight deadlines and work under pressure Ability to produce innovative solutions to engineering problems Good oral and written communication skills Full approved UK Driving license Why BEAR?
