Cluster Manager

Location: North Eastern Suburbs, Melbourne Employment Type: Full-time Salary: $90,000 + Bonus Who We Are Humphris Wholesale Nursery is based in the Dandenong Ranges. We supply trees and plants to retail nurseries, both large and small, across Victoria and New South Wales. In addition, we operate a number of our own retail stores - 2 at present with plans to expand our retail chain. The current stores operate under the Greenery brand - which is an iconic brand in the industry - based in Heidelberg. The second retail store is located in Mt Evelyn. What We Are Looking For To drive this expansion into retail stores, we are recruiting for a Cluster Manager with deep retail experience that wants to be challenged as they become a key driver in the planned growth of this retail push. The stores are lifestyle stores which focus on products designed to style houses and apartments – both inside and outside. Plants only represent around 50% of our stores' turnover. We're seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Cluster Manager to join our retail operation. We want our stores to be renowned for their welcoming vibe and commitment to providing an exceptional shopping experience to our varied customer base. The successful candidate would also manage one of the 2 stores as well as managing the Store Manager in the second store. We want someone who is confident in what they do and can empathise, and motivate, store employees and customers alike. Experience in retail is necessary and ideally the successful candidate will have ideas born from this retail experience, with which they want to put these ideas into practice across our expanding retail presence. What We Want Our Cluster Manager To Do Take control of the current retail stores and motivate all staff Oversee daily store operations including stock management, merchandising, and visual presentation. Meet and exceed targets Drive sales growth and profitability through effective team management, promotions, and local marketing initiatives. Manage staff rosters, recruitment, training, performance evaluations. And motivate all staff with your enthusiasm Ensure compliance with company policies, health and safety regulations, and all relevant legislation. Monitor store performance metrics and report to senior management. But also: Have your staff motivated and wanting to come to work each day Give continuous feedback to staff (both positive and areas for improvement) to enable them to improve themselves and performance Be hands on where required with customers to show staff how to sell About You Minimum 3-5 years of retail management experience is required. Strong leadership, communication, and organisational skills. Ability to motivate a team and foster a positive work environment that overflows to customers.
