Business Development Manager

Our client has a global presence and is a leader within the logistics and transportation industry. They offer a wide range of services to businesses worldwide including ocean freight, air freight, road freight, contract logistics and supply chain management logistics. They leverage advanced technology and digital solutions to optimise logistics processes, improve efficiency, and reduce environmental impact. We are searching for Business Development Managers with a focus on air OR ocean freight, to join the team and contribute to the continued success of the Victorian branch and company. THE ROLE Leveraging your expertise and industry knowledge, you will play a pivotal role in identifying new business opportunities, forging partnerships with key stakeholders, and expanding market presence within air freight. As a key member of the team you will have the freedom to pursue ideas, be entrepreneurial while always being accountable with targets and KPI's. Key responsibilities of the role will include : Identify and prospect new business opportunities, including potential customers, partners, and industry collaborators, through targeted outreach and networking efforts. Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with existing clients, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction and retention while identifying opportunities for upselling and cross‑selling. Develop and implement strategic plans to expand our client portfolio. Negotiate contracts and agreements with clients, ensuring mutually beneficial terms. Work with the State Sales Manager (Air) OR Director of Ocean Freight to develop strategies and activities to support existing customer relationships and grow new accounts. Engage with senior stakeholders and teams to develop value added solutions. Provide quotes to clients in a timely manner. Monitor and analyse sales performance metrics, pipeline activity, and market trends to track progress towards goals and identify areas for improvement or optimisation. ABOUT YOU The ideal candidate will be a proactive and detail‑oriented individual, capable of handling a variety of tasks with efficiency and enthusiasm. You will also have : Experience in Air OR Ocean freight processes either domestically or internationally. Demonstrated history of achieving sales success and fostering business growth in the logistics sector. Responsible and driven individual committed to delivering high‑quality service. Capability to execute strategic plans effectively. Effective persuasion abilities. Excellent client relationship management skills with a focus on problem‑solving. Full working rights in Australia.
