The position provides strategic leadership, guidance, and support to the Civic Place Management team to achieve best practice management and operation of Council’s facilities, including properties, buildings, grounds, and associated infrastructure assets. The goal is to ensure ongoing provision of satisfactory levels of service to all occupiers and end users. Job Details Permanent Full‑time position • 35 hours • 5 days per week • Salary $113,139.40–$123,971.84 + Council lease back vehicle +12% super • Location: Liverpool. Job Description This is a great opportunity for an experienced professional to contribute to the development and growth of the compliance investigations team. Undertake complex compliance investigations with a high level of customer and solutions focus. Investigate, enforce, and resolve unlawful building and development activities. Enforce conditions of development consent by ensuring applicants, owners, builders and developers comply with the terms of their consent. Issue appropriate directions, notices, and orders to regulate activity and investigate and resolve customer complaints in a timely and expedient manner. Work autonomously with minimal supervision while collaborating across the team and with key stakeholders. About You Degree, Graduate Diploma or Diploma in Building, Engineering, Construction field or equivalent. Current Class C NSW Driver’s Licence. WHS White Card. Demonstrated experience in building and development compliance and dealing with unauthorised building work. High‑level judgement and issue management skills. Excellent knowledge of the Environmental Planning and Assessment Act 1979 and Local Government Act 1993 and other relevant legislation. Excellent knowledge of the framework of development assessment and enforcement in NSW or similar jurisdiction. Ability to interpret relevant legislation and policies, including environmental planning instruments, and to make appropriate decisions bearing in mind the legislative requirements.
