Join us as an Inspections / Forensics Engineer at Structerre Consulting and contribute to our leading structural and geotechnical engineering practice. We are looking for an experienced Inspections Engineer or a Residential Design Engineer with a minimum of 4 years in custom design to join our diverse team in the Mitcham office. The Opportunity This role involves the inspection and production of: Cracked building reports Causation reports for insurance purposes Commercial building inspections Duties of this role include: Providing technical and forensic advice to internal and external clients. Performing structural inspections on-site and preparing technical reports as required. Proactively building and maintaining customer relationships in a professional manner, with a view to generating new and ongoing business. Reviewing the work of other engineers for accuracy, quality, and adherence to Structerre’s standards, and providing feedback as necessary. Maintaining a high level of technical expertise through ongoing research and professional development. Contributing to the technical development of the Division. Providing ongoing technical advice, leadership and assistance to the development of other engineers through guidance, instruction, and motivation. Self‑motivating to complete allocated tasks and achieve client satisfaction, and collaborating on projects while working unsupervised. Completing various certified designs based on site review and analysis. Work vehicle, mobile phone and iPad provided Who are we looking for? Bachelor of Engineering (Civil/Structural) or equivalent, and eligibility for registration as a Certified Practicing Engineer. Experience in inspections engineering or a minimum of 4 years in custom residential design. Excellent communication skills for dealing with customers, clients, and all levels of staff. Leadership skills, setting and maintaining ethics and values within the Division, especially with junior engineers. High level of initiative and proactivity, especially for creative problem‑solving. High‑level report writing skills. A sound understanding of the BCA and Australian Standards. Experience in custom residential design, specifically sub‑floor design, raft design, and stick‑framing roofs. Experience in site investigations and forensic reports is preferred.
