Assistant Merchandise Planner at THE ICONIC Since 2011, THE ICONIC has redefined retail in Australia and New Zealand. With a dynamic, data‑driven Planning team, we work closely with Company Planning, Buying, Finance, Operations, and Tech to drive sales and maximise profit. About the Role You’ll report to the Senior Planner and play a key role in supporting category and line managers. Your responsibilities include providing accurate analysis, identifying risks and opportunities, and supporting the team to deliver on THE ICONIC’s strategy. Key Responsibilities Direction & Strategy: Understand key priorities of the department. Budgeting & Forecasting: Support budgeting and re‑forecast processes, providing financial analysis using key reports. Trade Insight: Generate reports and contribute to discussions during meetings. Range Planning: Assist with range setup, maintain and forecast core lines, and review performance. GTM Management: Monitor promotional calendars and critical paths, ensuring stock is available for key campaigns. Retail Excellence: Use KPIs (NMW, BP1, margin, stockturn, stock cover) to drive trade and suggest actions. Promo Management: Ensure tools and calculations are correct. Efficiency Improvement: Identify and implement process improvements. Market Research: Support price‑matching and competitor analysis with the Buying team. Collaboration: Work closely with Buying, Finance, Operations, and Tech to identify opportunities and streamline processes. Key Skills & Attributes Detail‑oriented with strong analytical skills and excellent attention to detail. Confident communicator, adaptable to different audiences. Ability to work well under pressure and manage changing priorities. Excellent mathematical skills and advanced Excel proficiency. Commercial awareness and understanding of retail metrics.
