SAP Functional Analyst

About the Role We are seeking a highly experienced Senior SAP Functional Analyst (AR & Banking) to lead configuration, testing and support of Accounts Receivable, Collections, Cash Management and Banking processes within our SAP landscape. This role is critical to ensuring seamless financial operations, compliant banking processes, and high-quality system enhancements across Treasury, Finance, and shared service environments. Who We Are Looking For Extensive experience as an SAP Functional Analyst specialising in SAP FI-AR, Banking, and financial integrations. Strong understanding of end-to-end AR processes, payment automation, reconciliation and treasury/banking workflows. Demonstrated experience configuring BCM, EBS, payment mediums, lockbox, customer accounting and integration with financial institutions. Proven ability to troubleshoot banking file errors, posting issues and financial automation problems. Strong analytical ability with excellent stakeholder engagement skills across Finance and IT. Experience delivering SAP upgrades, financial transformations or platform migrations. Key Responsibilities AR & Banking Configuration & Maintenance Configure and maintain SAP FI-AR, Banking (BCM), Cash Management, Electronic Bank Statements, payment mediums and related financial components. Ensure compliance with applicable financial, banking and treasury regulations. Maintain payment cycles, direct debit runs, bank formats, lockbox settings and reconciliation processes. Business Requirements & Process Analysis Work with Finance, Treasury and Accounts Receivable teams to understand business needs. Analyse requirements against SAP functional capabilities and draft high-quality functional specifications. Review and document financial process taxonomies, workflows and AR/banking integrations. Data Mapping & Validation Review source-to-target financial field mapping and provide clarification to data and migration teams. Build value mapping tables to support transformation of customer, payment and bank data. Validate all extracted, transformed and loaded (ETL) financial data. Collaborate with business SMEs to validate AR balances, open items, bank accounts and reconciliation data. Testing & Quality Assurance Develop test scenarios and scripts aligned with AR and Banking business rules. Lead integration testing, end-to-end finance testing and user acceptance testing (UAT). Validate payment files, automated bank interfaces, EBS postings and customer account results. Troubleshoot discrepancies in banking integration, payment postings or AR data. Support & Issue Resolution Manage risks, issues and defects throughout project and hypercare phases. Investigate and resolve SAP AR, Banking and integration errors. Support incident resolution, root cause analysis and system stabilisation. Documentation & Training Contribute to functional documentation, configuration guides and end-user training materials. Ensure process and system documentation is updated after enhancements or changes. Upgrades, Enhancements & Continuous Improvement Participate in SAP upgrades, support packs and banking/financial enhancement projects. Assess the impact of changes on AR, payments, reconciliation and treasury processes. Ensure smooth system transitions through robust testing and stakeholder communication. Compliance & Audit Support Support internal and external financial audits by providing required reports and system evidence. Maintain high data integrity across AR, payments and bank postings.
