Job Details Base pay range: $129,000/yr - $142,000/yr Employment Type: Ongoing (Full-time) Remuneration: $129,000/yr - $142,000/yr plus superannuation and leave loading Location: Sydney CBD, Flexible working options available Applications Close: Thursday, 4 December at 9:59am Seniority level: Mid-Senior level Job function: Analyst, Finance, and Strategy / Planning Financial Services, Economic Programs, and Government Administration Your day as a Senior Advisor Our focus is on driving outcomes budgeting to deliver effective and impactful public spending The Transport, Arts, Regions and Planning Division leads Treasury's engagement with these portfolios, supporting partners in planning and delivering improved public services and major capital projects, with a focus on effective and impactful public spending. The Premier, Cabinet and Regional Development team provides strategic advice and recommendations to the Treasurer, Minister for Finance, Expenditure Review Committee, and Secretary of Treasury on complex government policy and budget proposals, helping to resolve resource allocation decisions. This team also advises on public sector reform and strategy across diverse areas such as agriculture, biosecurity, primary industries, mining, natural resource management, regional development, industry support, investment attraction, natural disaster response and recovery, Aboriginal Affairs, and government coordination. By building a robust evidence base for resource allocation and progressing reforms, the team partners with multiple NSW Government agencies to foster a strong and sustainable NSW economy. As a Senior Advisor, you will support strategic project and policy development by analysing and advising on policy, regulatory, financial, and economic issues facing government agencies. You'll build collaborative relationships with Treasury and agency contacts, proactively monitor performance, and help implement change to deliver high-quality outcomes for the people of NSW. Achieve success as Senior Advisor In this integral role there are a few things we would like for you to have to best support yourself and add value to the people of NSW. The ideal candidate should meet the following criteria : Advanced financial literacy, including an established track record in financial analysis. Experience providing economic policy advice and delivering evidence-based analysis. Skilled in financial and data analysis using Microsoft Excel and Prime. Proven ability to manage stakeholders and communicate effectively. Strong understanding of economic, fiscal, and public policy. Project management experience and ability to work collaboratively in teams. Tertiary qualifications in public policy, economics, finance, accounting, law, business, or a related discipline. Monitoring agency budgets, analysing expenditure trends, and identifying risks to inform budget proposals and mitigation strategies. Supporting the delivery of the NSW Budget, including assessing business cases and new policy proposals, and coordinating the delivery of budget papers and other budget deliverables.
