Join to apply for the Policy Officer role at Department of Premier and Cabinet (Vic) An exciting opportunity exists for two talented and passionate individuals to join the Social Policy Group, as a Policy Officer in the Health Branch at the Department of Premier and Cabinet. We have 1 x Ongoing and 1 x Fixed-term (until May 2026) opportunities on offer. The Health Branch shadows and supports the work of the Department of Health (DH) and the Victorian Health Building Authority (VHBA). The core duties of these roles include providing high quality policy advice and analysis to the Premier, the Secretary, DPC executives and other senior officers across a range of issues within the Health Portfolio. The role requires a proactive self-starter with a good understanding of government processes and an ability to work in a complex, sensitive and fast paced environment. The successful candidate/s will demonstrate strategic policy experience; analytical and communication skills coupled with an ability to influence senior stakeholders and work effectively in a team environment. About You Demonstrated policy skills, including analysing and critically evaluating information and the potential implications and risks of proposed policy options. Sound conceptual and analytical skills, with demonstrated ability to synthesise information from a range of sources and events. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including demonstrated ability to express policy advice, complex information and key points clearly and concisely. Highly developed influencing and negotiation skills and experience in engaging with senior executives. Demonstrated willingness to be flexible and adaptable to changing priorities with the ability to meet deadlines while working in pressured situations.
